It really doesn't make sense why it's so fun/addicting. I mean, the graphics are awful, the gameplay's incredibly simple. But damn it if it isn't the best $13 I've spent in a long time.

All right, your testimony was the last straw, I just now bought the game.

Besides, I get future versions of the game free if I buy it now? And it'll naturally only be most costly the longer I wait to buy it....yeah I've not played it, but if it's half as fun as I've been hearing it is...it'll be worth it. So worth it.

I'll see how it plays tomorrow. I must Crash more Castles and then do homework tonight.

Yeah, I believe so. The price is set to double when it finally goes beta. Word is Valve was interested in it too, but I'm not sure if anything would ever come of that. I do know that the developer (yes, one guy -- I think he has a couple of partners now but the majority was done just by one guy) keeps up with stuff really well. Updates seem to be at least every week, and he blogs/tweets information with regard to updates/server status very regularly (multiple times/day).

Seeing the developer(s) so deeply involved is reassuring that the game will just get better with time, and having just come from the trainwreck that was APB, that's something I really appreciate.

Yeah I bought Minecraft a couple of days ago after being roped in by some HoN clan mates. I still don't quite understand how to do things, but I'm having a bunch of fun just digging really deep holes and getting lost in them. I don't like when the sun goes down though.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the "point" of the game is....if there is one...but I too am having a ton of fun building this little fort thing I decided to make, but every time I go to the mountain to get more dirt/soil blocks I get...bombed?? I think. I don't know what the heck it is, but if I go near the mountain and it starts to get dark, I've gotten blown up twice now, and I'm almost dead....is there a way to get my health back up or do I wait for it?

That's about what you do, yeah, haha. When you start building more elaborate things it gets really interesting

The point is to survive. You start with nothing, you build up from there. More content is said to be coming, like PvP and such, but right now you basically do what you can to not get fucked by enemies, and then mine/build to your heart's content.

There's an enemy that attacks you by exploding near you. Your best bet is to stay inside (being productive mining) during the night time, and you can build weapons to fend off mobs.

You can make some food that gets your health back up. Easiest is to kill pigs, get the ham from them, then build a furnace, fuel it with wood or coal, and smoke the ham. You can eat that to regain health.
