Picked up my copy of Gran Turismo 5 today - now just 5.5 more painfully slow hours of work before I can get home to try it out. So to stay on topic of the forum title I'm currently playing the waiting game.... and its crap!

Had a quick thrash at GT5 last night, was a little put off at first as there are some major graphical bugs and failures which are distracting not to mention the load times and slow to navigate menus. However after playing it for a bit longer I started to really enjoy it, the licence tests took me back to the older games. Great car selection and various game modes like Karting are a nice change of pace. I think the current metacritic score of 86 is fairly accurate - overall a good game which will keep me entertained for a long time but certainly plenty of faults. Hopefully they can try and fix these via patches but considering the development time and their reputation for perfection tis a bit disappointing.
