Canadian kid gets addicted to Call of Duty 4, has his xbox taken away and he runs away from home.

Microsoft, which makes the Xbox 360, said it would match the existing reward of C$25,000 ($19,400) for information leading to Brandon Crisp's return.

I need to write a game review, even though I hvane't played any games for a while. I think I'm going to rent Silent Hill: Homecoming, since I enjoy horror games. There are few things I care about with this game though. I just want it to terrify me.

I'm not taking anything away from Half Life... but there's a reason that the Halo series is as popular as it is. It's not something for the FPS diehards. They aren't striving to innovate as much as have mass appeal... I think therein lies the difference between being a success PC title and a successful console title. PC = appeals to diehards. Console = appeal to the masses.
Developing a game for a console is not creative license to be uncreative. I'll gladly admit that linking up multiple xboxes for a Halo lan party can be quite fun, but at the end of the day its still run an gun, spray and pray, bunny hoping, shallow and mundane Doom clone. And it doesn't even have a BFG.

you can speak for your own lan party's mate

the lan party's i had were so so so much more than that, it was communication, team work, rivalries, vendettas, and tons of unexpected moments of hilarity, and unforgettable defeats and victories.

Its call CTF pro on Sidewinder, Strategy mania.

I HEART HALO1 LAN PARTIES, honestly some of the best times me and my friends had together. It was our generations version of tackle football with less mud and more wires.

The experience of Half-Life 2 (even though they are great) could never come close to scratching the surface of Halo Lan party fun.

I already admitted Halo lan parties are fun and frankly it's an interchangeable experience. If it can be substituted so easily with Gears, COD, Battlefield, Killzone, etc., then I feel by default they are substandard games.

Half-Life 2 has no substitutes.

Maybe I missed the boat as I've only recently started playing it? But what makes Half Life 2 the end all? The existance of the BFG as you stated earlier? You really watered down Halo that and basically packed it up in the genre "All things that aren't Half Life 2." What makes Half Life 2 so much better?

Aye, that and it was the first FPS to work very well on a console.

I wasn't implying that HL2 had a BFG. The Zero Point Energy Gun (I like that name better) certainly is not a BFG. That was in reference to Halo < Doom.

Half-Life 2 is the greatest FPS because of the redonkulous physics engine plus gravity gun, the superb voice acting and storytelling, and the unconventional battle scenarios.

You definitely are going to miss some of the spledor of the game for playing so late, but when it was originally released the graphics were the cutting edge. The physics, however, are still top of the line. If you can get over the graphics (which shouldn't be hard because they are still current imo), you will have fun as long as you realize HL2 is not a run and gun, more like a stop and plot.
