I'm there with you bob - I'm really not a huge fan of the PoP games. I wanted to be, but I was just meh on a lot of it. Don't get me wrong, I probably didn't give it enough time - but a game should be able to hook me straight away. Happened with Little Big Planet, Mass Effect, Gears, and hell, even Assassin's Creed (Shivving, please? I swear, that NEVER got boring
![]() I am absolutely LOVING Little Big Planet. I just wish I could get my hands on a Kratos/Nariko code! I wish I had a PS3 when it came out, I'd have pre-ordered it right a-freaking way And with the price the Lich King is going for on eBay, I wish I'd have pre-ordered that freaking LE too! Bew. |

I sold my old Xbox 360 on eBay for $300 and bought a new bundle for $399; so basically for $99 I got
a) an HDMI port (now I get 1080p on my 100" screeen - woo!) b) 60gb HDD (old one had 20gb) c) headset d) Gears Of War 2 e) Kung Fu Panda f) Indiana Jones Lego Ooh what a bargain. The new dash is pretty cool but it does feel like they're trying to get the Wii audience on board with the avatars. Last edited by brianward81; 11-20-2008 at 04:07 PM. Reason: Edit - I put headset headset down twice. Damn tourettes. |

Sands of Time is widely loved, but it's ok if you don't like it. Assassin's Creed is generally regarded as a really nice engine but a repetitive game with problems - I'm hoping the sequel sorts all that out and Ubisoft loves their sequels. |

I actually won Kung Fu Panda and Indiana Jones Lego in a competition a couple months ago and just traded them both in (I tried Kung Fu but didn't touch Lego). But it looks like the type of game my wife could get into; I don't think Dead Space, Gears 2, Soul Calibur 4 or The Force Unleashed is really her style.
I would love her to sing in my GH4 band (she has an awesome voice) but she hasn't sung in a long time and is embarrassed. I'll just remind her that she be pushing a baby out soon which might be more embarrassing than singing in fron of her husband. |

I'm still playing banjo and kazooie nuts & bolts. Its at times tedious (no puzzles, just tricky control with vehicles) and then most of the time its amazing. I love building my own vehicles and the excitement of finding new parts and making new vehicles.
I also love having the game on my hard drive. I wish I had a 120 gig and could put all my games on there (the disc drive does not spin and load times slightly increase) be warned halo junkies this option is not for you. As for sands of time I could care less about the graphics if they were great or over rated does not matter to me. I would rate it a 9 out of 10 for its game play physics and innovation. For me I had never played a 3D game that felt like I was really using the envirement to its fullest. The story telling was great and the fighting mechanics were good enough (but obviously the weak point) I have fond memories of the exilariation I felt when I was able to use my acrobatics and get from point a to b that on first glance appeared to be impossible. I think it is a major inspiration for a game like portal and mirrors edge. Very different mechanics but the same thinking process and exciting reward. Anyone has the right to not like PoP, but to say its over-rated would be a hard (near impossible) debate to win. If you didn't like the game it was not at a game design fault, personal preference can sometimes trump great game design. |
