yeah in London we also have the congestion charge of $16 Monday-Friday to drive into the centre during the day.

It was meant to reduce traffic, it obviously hasn't worked. Those that have to drive still have to drive and those that have the cash just don't care about the charge.

Get a hybrid...or register your car as a cab. Then you don't have to pay the charge.

Gas hit 1.24/L in Montreal - that's like 4.40 / US$+Gal. Ouch.

1.08 in Cornwall.

Diesel is $1.35/L in places.

$3.59 for the cheap stuff here. I believe those paying $3.89 for the ultra-uber-mega-high octane couldn't care whether it was $0.99 or $99.00 a gallon.

I live in Italy but I'm in the military so we buy what we call "gas coupons". They are $108 for 100 liters. 100 liters = 26.4172052 US gallons. That's about 4.15 a gallon and going up. It used to be $68 when I got here in June 2006. It sucks!
