Meh, i dont know. If "The sixth sense" came out today i would probably make apost titled: "What pissed me off about the sixth sense" and obsess about that idiotic ending that ruined the whole movie for me, because it made look everything like a dumb trick.

There's a lot of more valid points, but that bugged me off. Maybe this unobtanus thing, pissed him off. To stay behind the MacGuffin thing, i know people who have obsessed on that briefcase in Pulp Fiction (i was more like "what briefcase", but that's me) and it ruined the experience for them.

He probably wanted to discuss the movie, found that detail annoying and expressed his dissatisfaction by using a catchy word like HATE. He's not a troll, if he was he would have used the classic "AVatar SUCKS!!!!1111!".

I trust Dylan. And obviously he's going to disagree with me. So he will self-destruct.

It just didn't take most of us out of the movie the way it took Dylan out of the movie. I remember the first time I saw "Pulp Fiction" and having the same reaction about the briefcase, then watching it again much later and realized how much of the movie I am missing if I am only focused on the briefcase.

I completely agree with Bucho (I think it was) about how the perspective of the value of unobtanium is missing because we don't know the economic status of Earth. It might have made for a different movie, but I don't know. I won't see it again while it's in theaters.

And you would have had a valid point, based on your opinion, based on the ending being what the ENTIRE MOVIE WAS ABOUT. I'm saying better dylan has no point because he's basing it on an inconsequential detail (one that Cameron basically name inconsequentium).

Sure -- I still hate The Hangover because they never tell you where the f-ing chicken came from! They explain, the tiger, the tooth, the baby, everything except the CHICKEN!

You cheeky bastard Marcos; "misread you" my ass. 33 years I've been talking English and listening to it spoken by people from every nation under the sun, not to mention hundreds of thousands of hours hearing it from American TV, films, radio and podcasts. And yet I still run across phrases used in a way I've never heard before.

And that is your miracle Saint Marcos. You took a phrase that's established to mean one thing and converted it to mean another.

I like the cut of your gib Carruthers. But if I remember right the way the thing was sold was that the ships flying up there couldn't even rely on their own instruments let alone comms with other ships. Their proximity sensors wouldn't even work up there and that action all happens within the Hallelujah Mountains region, not across any boundary. That's why they had to go to visual flight rules. If I remember right.

Ah well. This is where my claim falls to the ground.

As Mr Norman Voles of Gravesend would say.

Yes, that's a fairly significant plot hole then. But was it a show stopper? They didn't seem to use the comms for much other than 'keep going, chaps!'. They'd doubtless have come up with another means to communicate with each other. Involving telepathy of some sort which used the very mystical (oo-oo-ooo-oo) disturbance which nobbled the ordinary comms. And you'd've needed another 10 minutes to weave that in convincingly.
