Thx for the suggestions.
I'm trialing BeyondPod and it seems to be pretty good so far... We'll see how good it is when it reverts to the lite version in a few days... If the lite version is shit, I'll give Doggcatcher another crack. |

I've been using BeyondPod for a bit over a week, and it's pretty good.
The trial period's run out, so auto updating (and some other shit that I don't use) has stopped working. The cunts want $6 for the unlock key, and I'm wrestling with that now. I think it was Keith who mentioned paying fucking $8 for a coffee, but balking at $0.50 for an app that makes your life easier. Podkicker's free, and PocketCasts is $3 (but no trial). I can't be arsed installing another player, so I'll probably put up with the manual updating until I realise that it's only $6 and stop being a tightarsed piece of shit. |

For iOS I use Podcaster. It hasn't steered me wrong yet. For KATG and other podcasts with a lot of episodes that I have downloaded to listen I'm using the standard iPod app with iTunes.
On Android I've had mixed results with PocketCasts and Doggcatcher. I love how Pocket Casts manages all my subscriptions and I can just play the episodes I've downloaded without having to scroll down the list of episodes that aren't downloaded but are on the rss feed. Unfortunately, and maybe it's Presto!'s fault it crashed a lot on me. I then tried Doggcatcher and it was more consistent Presto! aside. But unfortunately, as I mentioned above, I couldn't filter out downloaded episodes with undownloaded episodes and so I had to do a lot of scrolling to play stuff I wanted to play. But that's my gripe. Also my phone was the HTC One X. The sense IU may also have played a part with my annoyances with podcast apps on Android. The next time I get an Android app I may try beyond pod. As for Google Listen, I thought Google dropped that already? |

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...51bGwsMSwyLDNd The new interface takes a bit to get used to, but it's beautiful and takes advantage of the notification bar controls (always running in the background, so you can drop the notification bar from anywhere to pause/resume playback- really killer feature). It also has a basic widget if you're into that sort of thing. Right now, the only feature that's missing is the ability to subscribe to a password protected RSS feed, which, if you're VIP, is a real drag. It's something they're going to implement soon though, so even if you're boned for now, you won't be boned forever.
