are we talking like Church ave & 98th st near Brookdale Hospital? I grew up not to far from Church Ave in the 50's and my Aunt lives close to Brookdale. The area is getting better but it was pretty crack'ish and crime'y in the 90's and early 2000's

Yeah, I'm not sure how Church Avenue cam into play, as that's not East Bushwick. My girlfriend used to live off of the Wilson L stop, which is pretty deep East Bushwick. Not the best neighborhood, and somebody did get shot down the street from her, but otherwise relatively safe.

Somebody almost got murdered, but still "relatively safe". Relative to the inside of a volcano where death is ensured?

It was a shooting within a family, not gang-related shit. There are plenty of neighborhoods where folks beat up/kill their significant others, but that doesn't make it unsafe to go out at night.

You were sleeping on the floor.

It's likely that the muggers/rapists/hobos/graphic designers felt sorry for you and left you alone.

That was an important piece of information.

Seems I made a minor error. The practice spot is in East Flatbush off Church Ave. My apologies for my incompetence.

Very Caribbean, almost no white folks moderate safety. Biggest issue depending on cross st off of Church Ave is it's most likely a "2 fare" zone where you will need to get on a bus once you get off the train
