Hopefully other podcasters in New York will have listened to this show and won't have Patrice on as a guest.

It's weird to hear how the dynamic changes between Keith and Danny when it's on KATG vs (more recent) TTSWD episodes.

I'm glad you're not dead, Danny. Otherwise TTSWD with have to find another Danny, or maybe Dan Soder's knee. Whatever the case, it would have sucked compared to the current incarnation.

Gentlemen, ALWAYS TAKE YOUR DICK OUT! On episode 840: Erection Day with guests F-MOS and the great Jesse Joyce. Jesse was talking about a hookup that didn't go well and F-MOS said "why didn't you just take your penis out?" Needless to say hilarity ensued. Since then I almost always take my dick out. I am very happy to say, I have never regretted it, it has never ended badly, and I have always, at the very least, received head. Gentlemen if you are on a date and you are making out and it seems like it is going well but could get better... just take your dick out.

The story starts around 1:20:00 into the show. It is one of my most favorite show clips to this day, mainly because of the fact that it was a seemingly insane piece of advice that changed my life for the better. Also Keith and Chemda were totally in support of the taking out of dicks.

jaredv1214 05-29-2014 02:18 AM

Keith, you didn't find a plot hole in x men? Did you forget that Patrick Stewart's Professor X died in the 3rd X men movie and they just brought him back with 0 explanation?

Keith 05-29-2014 07:30 AM

I'm supposed to remember something from a movie from 8 years ago and see if it doesn't jive with something I saw last night?

What can I tell you. I only follow plot holes if they take over a range within 7 years. Always been my rule.

They changed the past; ergo, little things changed along the way and he never died after all. How bout that.

I bet Patrice would know.

If you ladies want to see some man meat in a fantasy setting, go watch Spartacus on Starz. Literally everyone is naked all the time in that show.

Skip the first episode, though. It's garbage.

Aldo's phone call broke my heart. I was such a huuuuge fan of Patrice, it was so disappointing the first time around but hearing this is just sad. Aldo was the last person I expected to be on the phone because they were such good friends. So sorry to learn that she owes you so much money, Aldo.

I'm kinda glad Chemda wasn't around because I know she'd be under the table. That's why they are such a good team, these two: Chemda gives you empathy and love and understanding. Keith gives you a shot of Jager, asks you a question and then punches you right in the face.

WittyReference 05-29-2014 08:59 AM

Well done to Aldo and thanks for coming forward on the show. Got me through a hospital visit. VIP will get me through recovery. Can't wait to catch up on Myka's show, the best show ever did.

Could you sue her, preferably on judge judy? When you were talking about still hanging out or trying to be nice, it reminded me of Keithz revelation about bullies and how you keep hanging around them hoping they'll change their mind and realise you're cool.

Couple of questions :

- did Chemda know you were doing this show or will it be a surprise when she gets back, cause oh boy.

It's a pretty good way to browse the forums.

shoebootie 05-29-2014 09:55 AM

First of all, Days of Future Past was the first X-Men movie I've seen AND I FRIGGIN LOVED IT. I even thought "you know, I bet Keith liked this movie, it did not make a mockery of time travel."

Secondly, kudos to Aldo for sticking up for himself and airing it out. It's so easy to feel like the asshole when you're the one who's owed something, for whatever reason. My jaw dropped at $3,000 but at $6,000 that is like.... you really could take her to court for all this, 3 or 6 grand.

I can't say I'd call Patrice a friend, since I never met her. I internet-liked her and was a big fan. But every single time we were supposed to meet or get together, something would come up. She opted into things she didn't have to and stood me up. She didn't have to say yes! I wasn't twisting her arm! Like the couple times I put feelers out on twitter to see if any of my friends were interested in Friendsgiving (day after thanksgiving friend meal get-together), and she said yes, she'd make it and give her directions/travel instructions to Jersey... I was like wow that's cool, the more the merrier. I was inviting this wacko into my home before I knew she was a wacko, but I guess it's good she didn't come, because maybe she'd never leave.

She didn't come, I got a flaky text about it. I felt bummed out at the time, which was way before any of this drama came to light. I thought she was a really cool person from online and KATG and was really excited. Then to explain to my friends that no, Patrice wasn't coming (and again, twice after that when she RSVP'd/flaked for other things)...

When she didn't go to the KATG live show in November 2012, I asked her why she didn't come, and she said how her brother's birthday last minute blah blah blah, and I WANTED to say "how is someone's birthday last minute, it's the same damn day every year!" But whatever, she was reaching for excuses. Whether it be stage fright or no money or whatever her problem is.

The pathological lying, combined with money-borrowing and simultaneously bragging about how she's rollin in dough from her many shady jobs.. all of it together is sad that she feels like this is what she needs to do to gain friends, when in reality she's lost friends and gotten a bad rap as a scam artiste.

bithead 05-29-2014 11:42 AM

Counterpoint:

Has Patrice ever let it slip that she's in College/University? Has anyone noticed her making notes every time she "borrows" (steals) from someone? Maybe she's doing some kind of comprehensive social experiment, and fully intends to pay back everyone, with interest, once her paper is published.

Point:
... nah... she's a compulsive liar unlike I've ever heard of.

shoebootie 05-29-2014 11:47 AM

I especially like how she'll casually drop on FB things about working in an office, interacting with people at work. Like ok, I guess you're "working" now.....? Sure thing.

Dean from Australia 05-29-2014 12:42 PM

Listening to this show again was as cringe worthy as it was the first time round but I realised that I didn't listen properly the first time round.

I feel bad for what Danny experienced. I feel bad for Keith and Chemda that they got shat on by her. I feel that I didn't get it on the first listen.

Metzican 05-29-2014 02:31 PM

Listening to this episode reminds me of when I was younger and borrowed 2-3k to a friend over a summer to help them live. I eventually learned my lesson cut ties and now I won't even lend anyone any money.

Along with this after being burned at the bar numerous times with people putting drink on my tab. I made a rule of only drinking one type of drink at the bar so if anything else showed up I would remember buying that drink.

In the end I just wounder with all her lying that if the stories of her mom are true. I am kinda on her mom side now.

Sean Othan 05-29-2014 08:01 PM

I'm so glad to finally know what the fuck went down Patrice. I never would have guessed she was a narcissistic sociopath from listening to the show. (She always sounded like she would be so much fun to be around).

(Yes, I'm getting around to a VIP subscription)

I dated one once, many years ago. Found out before I dumped him that he had used my credit and debit card, cheated on me left and right, left his old roomies high and dry while making up some story when moving in with me.. I bought all the groceries, paid the bills, and it was always "I'll pay you my share as soon as I can" .. and I believed it for so long, feeling so much (like Aldo said) like a chump, wondering how I could be so dumb. Lasted longer than it should have, but it was my first real relationship so I had the whole naive thing to deal with..

I'm not a shrink, so here's some NS traits shared by Patrice and my skank whore ex. Think it's pretty spot on:

Glib and superficial charm. The tendency to be smooth, engaging, charming, slick, and verbally facile. Sociopathic charm is not in the least shy, self-conscious, or afraid to say anything. A sociopath never gets tongue-tied. They have freed themselves from the social conventions about taking turns in talking, for example.

Grandiose self-worth. A grossly inflated view of one’s abilities and self-worth, self-assured, opinionated, cocky, a braggart. Sociopaths are arrogant people who believe they are superior human beings.

Pathological lying. Can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest.

Conning and manipulative. The use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain.

Shallow affect. Emotional poverty or a limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness in spite of signs of open gregariousness.

Parasitic lifestyle. An intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities.

Irresponsibility. Repeated failure to fulfill or honor obligations and commitments; such as not paying bills, defaulting on loans, performing sloppy work, being absent or late to work, failing to honor contractual agreements.

J. Canines 05-29-2014 10:44 PM

Patrice was always the sassy black chick who was funny and entertaining.

It's just a shame it turns out she's a sociopath. It is made even worse by the fact that she is perfectly capable of working and being the person she is only pretending to be...

...although I doubt she will ever have the cash she has lied about.

She may have even invented a new genre of personality: Broke-Bitch Baller. It's like those rappers in the video. You know the type. All Cars and Money and Gold Chains. All that, but never actually existing.

It's all just a baller fantasy in Patrice's head.

They left out: ZERO EMPATHY.

Sociopaths are most confusing because they appear to be human, but in reality, have no true emotion. This is how they con people. They literally don't feel guilt.

You keep giving thinking, "Oh they must feel like shit asking for all this. Why make them feel worse by asking how I'm going to be paid back."

All they are thinking is, "I want more." That's it. Period. The end.

ghauck 05-30-2014 10:20 AM

Like everyone I felt empty after this show. It's hard to hear about people being taken advantage of.

When Keith and Aldo started talking about how all the conversations from 9 years started to make sense I thought, Holy shit! It's Keith's personal 'Sixth Sense' moment.

Was there always something red in the room with Patrice when you think back Keith?

Edit - Nevermind, question already answered. That's what I get for not reading all posts before posting

I'd never told anyone because I felt like a complete chump. How do you admit to people that your alleged best friend swindled you over time for 6 grand? But Keith is right. I shouldn't let what she did make me feel bad anymore. She's the one in the wrong, not me. I just got taken by someone who I thought was a friend.

Keith, thanks so much for having me on the show. It was so great to get all of that off my chest. I've felt lighter and so much better all afternoon.

Thanks!

Pretty sure we have enough people to start a support group now. I wonder how many other people she screwed over.

Aldo,

She got 2 drinks out of me one night when we met up. Keep in mind I was un employed at the time and had just moved here. She then deleted me off her facebook page. Oh and shortly after about a month after I got a text asking for money.

Classy

You however are a class act and a genuinely good guy I'm sorry she did this to you.

Finally, after listening for a couple of years I get my pic in the show notes, thats all i've ever wanted.

Keith the point of the post on FB was that your duty as a veteren was to instruct others on our holidays.

Everything that could be said about patrice and how fucked everything with her is has been said. Its unfortunate that she is who she is

iheartnihilism 06-05-2014 08:50 PM

Ugh. This episode hurt me. I've been listening since episode #2 and always loved Patrice Thursdays but she has gotten weird over time.

I've known shady people like that before and it's just fucking gross. People like that don't really give a shit about friends, it's more about "what can I get out you" and she can blame her upbringing or her anxiety or whatever but in the end, you're a fucking adult. Fuck you.

I had a person I knew for almost a decade whom I lived with and loved dearly and considered my best friend fuck me over for almost $2,000 (by lying about rent and security things) when I told him I had to move out because I couldn't afford sharing the apartment with him anymore. I feel bad for Aldo, but he learned a (costly) lesson and maybe this will help him from falling for someone like that in the future.

I know it doesn't account for much in the grand scheme of things but I unfollowed her on twitter before I even heard this episode just from hearing the teaser to it in a previous episode because I knew that it was going to be about her doing shady shit that ended your friendship and not something like KatG just decided randomly that she was a cunt.

Also that whole thing Keith said about, well if you want me to forgive her, how bout YOU guys pay me back? is right fucking on. I went through the same thing because this person is still in my circle of friends and that sucks that I'M expected to just pretend like it never happened.

Keith 06-05-2014 09:28 PM
