2001
I listened to that Brandi Carlile song which lead me in to revisiting Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill which then segued into Toxcity by Systems of The Down and now I’ve basically travelled back in time to 2001.

Somehow my children found NWA of Pandora. That was an uncomfortable conversation.

Glad Shane was back on. I dig his voice.

Brandi Carlile has a lot of great songs, but if you only have time for one more, make it The Story. There's also a great version of The Joke where she's joined by a kid who can reach that crazy high note.
Here's the latest album as a single 43-minute track - file will be taken down in a few days. |
Chemda in the previous episode: "If you listen to 90s hip-hop I would probably blow you."
Chemda in this episode: "Is there only one country song?" Kevin Doucet's head must be spinning lately. Quote:

Country Chemda would be awesome, if anything because it would probably cause another Kevin D call-in.
The Grammy segment was amazing, you guys sounded so old. Keith crapping over all of the hiphop tracks was to be expected but it made me laugh. |
Creep? Yep, she's killed that too.

"This is America" music video is specifically referencing being black in America, not just American violence. Black people should be here for our entertainment, white people like their smiling gospel faces and when they sing and dance like minstrels, but stand by and watch them all get shot at and chased by police and just carry on with our day. There's loads of thinkpieces about the music video that go through all of the references. (e.g.https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.2a804eec594a)

Yeah, you can hear it in some of her phrasing in The Joke she's clearly a massive fan of Radiohead, or at least of those first few albums. |
