I think his buddy might have done some research into how to deal with anxiety before he gave him that bear hug.

There are quite a few studies showing that 'deep pressure stimulation' can help switch your nervous system into a more calm state. A firm hug/massage, a therapy dog trained to lay on you or weighted blankets all seem to work.
Apparently it even works for pets - there are 'thunder shirts' for dogs that are snug vests that advertise to help calm animals down.

The Power of Now is mentioned in the documentary about former guest Eddie Pepitone - The Bitter Buddha - another podcaster I listen to - Greg Fitzimmons talks about it a lot too. I found it beneficial in the very short term but for me, nothing in the self-help world is a lasting help. So ready for Chemda to become the next big name in New Age healing!

Tolle was also my intro to mantra music/kirtan, which helps me calm down occasionally. I expressed a hope that Chemda would record a chant album back when the Krishna music thing seemed to be in interest for her.

I watched Steven's set and couldn't even tell he'd been crying just before he went out.
