First-time guest episodes always activate my second-hand anxiety, but Nikki was excellent! I could totally hear her getting a feel for the vibes at first, then seamlessly riffing like she’s known you all for a long time. What a delight!

At the risk of having a joke explained to me, am I missing something with Freaks & Geeks? She wasn't on it.

I keep finding new podcasts to listen to through you guys. I've already binge listened to The Human Centipod, and now I'm going through Whoa, Dad! Really enjoyed this guest.

I do have to say that you guys continue to be the best when it comes to sound, though. I can't tell you how many times John Reynolds and Carmen Lynch have nearly blown my ear out screaming into the mic, lol. It's just one of those things that seems so simple, but you guys established yourselves very early as podcasters that take that shit super seriously, and it does make a huge difference.

I think they must be making a joke that she looks like Linda Cardellini. I was in the same boat as you but afraid to ask for elaboration for fear of missing the joke, lol

The foreign press association has 0 black people. Its mostly European people.
Thats pretty bad.
I dont really have any black friends in my real life. Does also sound bad.
But what does a person, I, do if 99,8% of all people i meet here are white?

Europe is different. We dont have the diversity here you have.
All the children go to the same, public school. Its still mostly white. When I walk around in my city I maybe, maybe see 1 non white person a week.
In most situations I am the "other" one, because I'm not a forever German.
I came here when I was 12. So I am the immigrant friend for others! They can say I have one immigrant friend, good old Apia is a divers one. But what can I do? I mostly only see white Germans everywhere!

Do you give out awards to film that represents all voices?

The award Business is very stressful and time consuming as I noticed in the 5 seconds when I was convinced that I should give them out.

I love an artsy fartsy movie where nothing happens as much as anyone, but there’s no way I’ll enjoy nomadland as much as Keith’s review of it.

Award shows are dumb, like you said each year everyone just magically decides that one movie is like pure art and its completely arbitrary. I started tuning out when birdman won best picture and I got 20 minutes into it and realized no one knows anything and it’s all hype.

Borat was probably the best 2020 movie I saw, but also nothing else came out so the award shows are grasping at straws this year.

I saw Nomadland. When the last scene started rolling, I knew in my heart that it was the last scene, that the movie had no ending, and I had just sat thru 2 hours of nonsense.
I did a full tilt Keith Malley FUCK YOU right at the screen.

Fuck that movie.

It also had no beginning or middle!
