I dont lie to my kids.
Really.
This is something I really wanted and so far it works. It's not easy sometimes. " Will our dog die? What is anal? Did you have boyfriends before dad? Did you try drugs? Why did dads parents divorce? "
But I'm proud it works so far.

My daughter didn't lie to me so far, as far as I know. The son has more tendency to not tell stuff but is honest in the end.
This is something that makes me really happy. I always thank them for telling the truth.

Sex questions, bad grades, things she destroyed, she always told me.

About Circumcision:

I asked a doctor here and he said : it's not done here unless there is a health risk or for religious reasons.

So that was that.

I was criticized by a childless friend for always telling the truth because " what about fantasy " . She tried to tell my daughter ( she was 7 at that time) that you can do time travel through some colorful light in a building and my daughter told her that that sounds like bullshit and I agreed.
Well, get your own kids and lie to them. Honestly works so far for us.

I can't believe people live with pets they are allergic to.

I tried it once and barely survived. I could barely get up in the mornings because I found it so hard to breathe.

That's when I knew the relationship was over. When your partner cares more about having very specific pets than having you around. Obviously there were other issues too, but that was a one.

It's a bit different if your partner tries to compromise by keeping the pet out of your bedroom or office, or you have separate sleeping arrangements. But most people just expect you to take 15 different medications to be around them and act like it's reasonable. No thanks.

My partner is allergic to cats. We have 2 of them. One he picked out himself, so it's not all me pushing my feline agenda on him.

We keep them out of the bedroom at least.

I want to own one of those hairless cats someday. Got to hold one last week at a cat show and it was SO SATISFYINGLY WEIRD.

Unfortunately: Cat allergies are twice as common as dog allergies. But contrary to what you might think, it's not the fur or hair that's the real problem. People with cat allergies are really allergic to proteins in the cat's saliva, urine, and dander .

Listen. I know this. I know where the allergens come from. I still want a little naked cat so much. Holding it was exquisite.

It's not the HAIR; it's the DANDER!

I told all of my potential partners that I love cats, at the time I had a cat that had been with me since middle school so I let them know if they were allergic or didn’t like cats we weren’t going to be a good match. Justin is allergic to dogs, the literal sun and tons of other things-but not cats. And the damn cat ended up loving him more than me [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] we will be celebrating 15 years of marriage in September.

If your partner knows you are allergic and still gets that animal-they don’t respect you. I love dogs and wish I could get a dog-but Justin is allergic. Luckily I have a lot of family members with dogs plus my job lets me be in contact with dogs sometimes so that is how I “cope”.
