One thing to be aware of: There's a cap at level 20. You max out and stop gaining experience. I think it's just for the main storyline, and after you beat that, it unlocks again. I'm not sure since I haven't completed the main story yet.
Right now, I've been level 20 for a while and I'm trying to stick to the plot as much as possible so that I can do some wandering afterward and get xp again. But who knows, maybe twenty's the top, period.
I hope not, because there's sooooo much left to see.
