Judging by the title (Empire, good or evil), the one who started this thread was just mischaracterizing the state of world affairs to throw out some good old anti-war hatred.
The answer? Empire is evil.
I'm assuming that this is a lightly veiled implication that the U.S. is "occupying" Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. and trying to take over the world.
We're not. Get your facts straight. To say not one cent is spent saving starving kids in South America is insane. When you use words, you should mean them and they should be true.
Why bombs? Because a good portion of the world understands only strength. Anybody bad, or intending to do bad things, has bombs or is doing their best to get them and if we sit around with no bombs, then we are dead.
Even a first post based on a lie can start a good thread. Who knew?
