How does it have anything to do with what I was raised on? THAT is the music that was played to me as a kid.. I was raised on those bands. I was a kid being raised by a mother who loved Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd Zepplin and Meat Loaf.. that's what was constantly playing throughout my childhood. You understand what the term "being raise on" means don't you (re-read that sentence in the non-bitchy tone in which in was meant)?

Look, duder. I like what I like. I was raised on Queen, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Ventures, blah blah blah. Who gives a shit? I was just curious as to how what you were raised on musically has any connection at all to a band being "cliche metal". Perhaps I read your paragraph wrong. It really doesn't matter. Don't be a dick.
I'm not a huge Sabbath fan (the Dio years are my favorites), I just "like" Judas Priest, and Maiden happens to do it for me. Is that ALL I listen to? No. My musical taste is as vast as the ocean, my friend...but I am not going to deny that a certain band or musical style elicits a positive repsonse from me because someone might or might not think it is "cool", or that I am a cliche lovin-purist.
