We get sponsors for the teams. Most teams will not let sponsors put their logos on their uniforms though. Some of the girls who are really good can get sponsors to have them wear their skates and protective gear. More commonly though, many skilled skaters make money coaching I have a website trying to help them out actually.
DerbyCoaching.com Other skaters have skate shops, some skaters have designed their own protective gear and skates, designed with derby in mind. I'm working on a bigger, better website to help the community out. I'd love it if ultimately I could actually profit from it, but helping the community is priority 1.
