From what is shown on the program, this guy has integrity and a determination to show events as they happened. He is a survivalist expert so he knows his shit. They edit scenes for time but if he says hes going to use a fire bow to start a fire, he does.he survives in the swamps of southern us, the arctic, climbs off of mountains, survives in african deserts, eats bugs, drinks tainted water, gets dehydrated, disorientated, lost out in the ocean. He films everything himself and carries all his equipment.
He ate a turtle that he didn't cook properly and got a weird mouth parasite that specialists in parasite medicine had never seen before.
