Alright, I confess - I love them both! On that note, I think everyone knows more than enough about my eating habits, let's leave it at that before the marshmallow pig comments ensue.

I agree with Keith about Californication getting retarded; it's easier to keep track of who he's not fucking than those he is. I also don't like their kid, she's a spoilt cheeky brat. On the other hand, I kind of want to see Hank fuck the student again so I'll keep watching a few more episodes.

let me say a few things about my shit country:
we do have all four seasons in brazil. in some regions some seasons are more prominent than others (north, center, northeast are hotter and south and southeast are colder). in são paulo, it's crazy (global warming, i guess) - one day it can be extremely hot, the next it's really cold and it's the middle of July (when it should be cold). here, when it gets hot, it's amazingly hot and stuffy, when it gets cold, so fucking cold (not as cold as europe, as we don't get snow, but really cold and windy). that's insane when you're stuck in a crowded subway train, and then you get out into the cold rainy streets.
it's not all party! super party! 24/7. most people work 9 -10 hours everyday. I work for nearly 9 hours +1 lunch hour (people can't work more than 44 hours in one week, they are suggesting a law to change it down to 40 without reducing your pay, but of course companies are against it) that's not counting 1.30 hours to go to work, then 1.30 hours to come home in crowded shitty subways and trains - and i'm not the only one doing this everyday, for shit money.
one last thing, we speak portuguese, not spanish, but that's an understandable mistake, since every country in south america speaks spanish but us.
love to hear keith's spanish, it's highlarious

The teacher just provided that kid with a life lesson it takes many years for some folks to learn: you can't trust everybody.
Plus, giving the kid one 'A' wouldn't be doing him any favors. If he isn't grasping the material by the time of the test, how is he going to handle the rest of the school year? Math is something you understand from paying attention and asking for help. The kid probably isn't doing his homework either and that 'A' wouldn't be pushing him over the finish line. If he did actually get the 'A', he'd learn that he can skate by without doing any work.

How long has it been since you people went to school? "Teachers are supposed to be role models." And health care should be affordable. There's a huge difference between how teachers should act and they do act. Plus, he's teaching math, probably algebra? Unless you are a math teacher or some other math job, I can't think of a more useless subject for the majority of the "real world." Except maybe calculus.

I'm about half-way through this show, and I know it's silly, and I shouldn't be surprised, but hearing that Cash Cab is staged is really disappointing.

I agree that calculus isn't something most people will ever have to think about but algebra is pretty useful, man! The only thing is that most of the algebra you'll have to do is so basic you don't realize it's algebra. But just because you don't notice it, doesn't mean it's not useful.

Horseshit. Half the problem with this whole recession business is fucking morons in the "real world" who don't understand the simple maths behind compound interest and the like. And people who think math isn't important in the real world are the suckers that get ass-raped by credit companies. Mortgages and business loans are what make the western world go round but it's an embarrasment to the mental potential of the entire human race that credit card companies make as much as they do.

Every independent adult, not just those who run a business or are self-employed, should have their head on straight math-wise or they leave themselves financially at the mercy of others. That's fine if you're happy to be someone else's bitch, but if you have any self-respect you'll get your shit together and learn to understand the numbers.
