Takes some time
Obviously the news about K&C is quite startling to the fans but when they started their podcast as a romantic couple, they never promised anyone they would always be a romantic couple. That's out of the way.
Regardless of whatever reasons for the secrecy (contractual obligations, they didn't feel like discussing it, it's none of our F'ing business, etc...), K&C have had quite a while to get used to their new relationship and move on emotionally. They're apparently now in a place from which they feel free enough to explore the issue with their fans and continue on as professional partners. From the audience perspective, however, it may take a while for fans to get used to the idea of K&C as nothing more than professional partners and friends. More power to them and the show will always continue to be as great as it always has been. So as the duo move on toward exploring what is "out there" beyond each other, the conversations about dating and romance outside of the show will be extremely interesting until listeners are able to also think of K&C's relationship in the same way K&C have been able to think of it for that last few months. |

Prejudice and Proud
It's like you got some kind of problem with coke heads. Recreational cocaine users suffer enough discrimination already. You are profiling, and profiling is wrong, and I will have none of it.

I'd like to say I disagree with the term 'donation'. I feel the subscriptions and money given to KATG are paying for a services rendered. People listen to the show. Someone has to pay to keep it going. Listeners who pay are paying for to keep the show on the air for our benefit.
People who buy products advertised on TV, podcasts and radio shows are indirectly paying for the entertainment of the people watching/listening to said show. Giving money to KATG is the same kind of thing, without the middle man of advertiser. |

Been there, wish I hadn't done that
Lived with a now ex girlfriend for five years. When we broke up, I had two months left on a lease, should have moved out, but really couldn't afford it without my deposit. Two months was like two years. We weren't fighting in the end, but twice a day when we spoke to each other it felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest.
After the lease was up, found a new place and started new. But to this day, I still miss my cats. ![]() Mixed feelings on whether it was right or wrong to wait as long as they did, but K & C obviously don't care what listeners think. And in this case where it's the most personal thing of all, why should they care? I just hope the next time they feel like "grilling" guests about their relationships, they hold back a bit more. Keith and the girl is about comedy. Let's get over this and bring on the comedy. |

Quote:
"Donation" suggests some type of handout. It's like if your boss told you that "you should be grateful for the weekly donation" he's given you for the past few years, when in fact, you worked your ass off for your weekly paycheck. Then your boss tells you it's "semantics". I'd be pissed if my boss called my paycheck a "donation" to Timmy the Toothbrush (Yes, that is my name, Timmy The Toothbrush). KATG work an average of 12 hours a day on the show and we download and listen to the show daily. They provide a service to us, we pay for it. They make a living off of that money. That's not a "donation". This ain't Salvation Army or Jerry's Kids. But if no one else sees it that way, then I am in the minority, and I will concede the argument.
