Both Crank movies is just ridiculous fun, not to be taken as a serious film in any way.

I was disappointed with Doom mainly because I went into it thinking it would be based on the original games but sadly it was not. Did quite like the first person shooting sequence in the film altohugh they could have done it much better and I liked the extra feature on the DVD that had a history of the Doom games - very interesting.

As for Lord of the Rings, being a Kiwi I was obliged to watch them however apart from some great actions scenes I was fairly bored with the whole series - not my kind of movie and I didn't read books. By the time I got to third one I was over the whole thing but did manage to sit through it. Clearly superbly made films but too long and slow.

So for me LOTR is better but if forced to watch one or other may chose Doom as will be over a lot faster and at least would get some steady action.
