I'm torn on seeing this one but the Wiki description of the production makes it seem good:

And it looks like they're gonna cgi Dr. Manhattan. Billy Crudup's playing him, providing the motion capture, I like Crudup. Have ever since I saw him in Stoppard's Arcadia. (Blew me away, in fact. Bought tickets that very day to see it again. Caught him in Bus Stop and The Elephant Man, too. Elephant was great - sad to see it had such a short run.)

Thing is, I don't want my vision, albeit drawn from the very graphics of the novel, to be tainted by the movie.
a very scary proposition indeed.

I'm sick to death of how young all the female actors have to be, no matter how old their character is.
Part of the allure of Owl and Specter's dynamics was their age, having been though so much together. Owl, a late middle aged man, past his prime, and Laurie, maybe in her mid 30s, hardened by all those around her.

She, a victim of influence in a life that she never controlled, and he, a man who once meant something but now spent his days contemplating the past. When Rorschach's quest to find the Comedian's murderer spurred their union, part of the wonder of watching their relationship evolve is how they bring healing to one another.

Make them glam 20 year olds and you lose that spin - you turn them into parts.

Rorschach is the heart of the tale. He is their Satan and Savior, refusing to yield because of what he believes is right, dispensing his brand of justice to all. Whoever this dude is that's playing him, he should be cast for his voice, for Rorschach's voice, the bit of humanity you can feel behind the mask, could be his defining trait - much like Jones' portrayal of Darth Vader.

As for the Comedian. a fat Micky Roark type would be great. Too old to play with the boys. Too proud to admit it. Too tough to be sent home. But at the end of every night, a weariness creeps into his eyes showing what he dares not admit to anyone, even himself - how sad and lonely he is, how only anger and bravado - not pride and happiness - keep him going.

And why CGI Dr. Manhattan? CGI some of his powers, but don't turn him all comic-booky.

I both love and hate knitting books. On the one hand, they're two of the things I like about life, knitting and books. On the other hand, I can never understand a sing thing they write in there. I need to be shown a pattern, not just read about it. Also, I can't hold my interest long enough for most of those projects.

I used to be that way too, but I am getting better now that I have some really nice completed stuff.

I can't look at those grid type patterns, it is actually easier for me to read out the directions in words...

I always get lost in patterns. I my mind wanders and I realize that I've just kept knitting and forgot to change my stitch, and forgot to mark it in the log.

MY best friend is the person I go to with all my knitting questions...her mom has knitted for years and she has too. She got in into the habit of making photocopies of the pattern I am working. It's great for highlighting the size (and how many stitiches I need for that size) so I don't get lost.....and I can also write all over the think without ruining my book.

That helped me a lot...
