Face Your Fear!

I did this weekend. i went to a Firearms handling course for actors this weekend and have a big fear of guns. Pic one is when i shot a Walther P22. I had tears streaming down my face and somehow depicted this with my shots (pic #2). Pic 3 is My Glock 9mm . Pic 4 is my 357 Magnum Smith and Wesson Revolver (small shots) and Sig 45 Auto (big shots) I also got to shot some blanks from a pump action shotgun.
I have no fear anymore and feel comfortable handling a gun. Yeah!

Point of all this is to face your fears!!! Now tell us what you have faced fear wise in the last while!!

I'd never shot a gun until this summer. Then I shot a gun. I liked it.

Damn liberals. You should have never passed fifth grade without knowing how to shoot well. Jeez.

Shot VT, looks like there's a new sheriff in town. Rock on sitsah!

I've paddled into 12 foot waves, given a speech for 1000 people, jumped off 5 story high cliffs into ocean swells and sparred with proffesional thai boxers but I'm the biggest pussy in the world when it comes to hairy spiders. Two weeks ago I found one in my room and instead of killing it I caught it in a glass and let it go outside. It took me 45 minutes to face the bastard down.

What?! I already said I'm a pussy.

(Next fear to defeat is living in a foriegn country that doesn't speak English or buying a glow in the dark buttplug. Whichever comes first.)

The first time I shot I was terrified, but I got over it real quick. Now going to the range is one of our favorite things to do on our days off.

When we were kids, my brother and I had a gun lesson from a second cousin when we were out visiting the hillbilly extended family in West Virginia (my father was literally born in a log cabin with no electricity and my great aunt and uncle built their house with their own hands so I come from strong peasant stock). If there's ever an apocalypse I'll be able to hold my own, but until then I can live without guns.

Good for you for being able to overcome your fear. I was never scared of guns and they are still a big part of hunting culture here in Wisconsin, but I can understand how people can get a phobia about them.

After having our home burglarized while we slept, I have entertained the thought of going to gun training and keeping a gun in the house. However, I know myself too well and realize that my nerves would get the best of me. I would probably end up killing myself or someone I love by accident.

The other night I dreamed that I was home alone with the kids and we were being "invaded" again. I didn't know how I was going to defend my family since I don't own a gun -- it was a horrible, helpless feeling. Still not sure what the answer is. (Kung Fu?)
