a day late, but i feel like i have to post this.

I know chemda is mad about her jewish school for teaching her that jews are hated by everyone. we are not, but the world is not america and jews are still hated by people all over the world (with nothing to do with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict).

in germany and france there are political parties who are growing each month, who preech hate, towards foreigners generally and jews speciffically.

The right-wing NPD party maybe, but they're fringe loonies that all democracies have to put up with.

As a brit living in germany I can honestly say you'll probably see more prejudice in the UK than here.

Thanks for posting this, Ella. It's worth taking the time to remember the bad times if only to realize how sweet the good times are. I'm sure that most peoples have low historical points that they can look back on, but the Holocaust was certainly a distillation of that universal experience.

I do think it's stupid all the hatred towards Jews in the world, however I think it's kinda ironic that Jews and Muslims are probably 2 of the biggest groups on the wrong end of the bigotry stick, yet they can't put thier shit away and help each other out.

Let's face it, a Somalian or someone from the DRC wouldn't have made it as far as Obama did. Because as soon as we hear those countries we think "slaughterers".

UN sanctions or no, Israel and Palestine can't get ahead in the world because they can't air thier shit out, and the surrounding countries suffer from it as well. Hell, the only reason Israel has any clout in the western world are 1) The holocaust (ok, valid reason there) 2) the US and Commonwealth countries rely on connections in Israel for a lot of business 3) they have nukes. They won't say they have nukes, but let's face it, they have nukes.

India and Pakistan were just the places annoying tech support people were hired from until a few years ago and then "boom" and now you hear about them at least once a week in the news. But now shit seems a bit more stable there than it used to be, even though there's still a lot of shit over there.

I think the UN should enact a "one nuke per million" policy. For every million people you have, you get a nuke. Should even shit out a bit, I think. It would skew things a bit though, I think. I mean, China would have like 4000, and the US a few hundred, but hey, at least it's democratic. Oh, and no replacing the ones you have, either. You use it, you lose it.

Sorry, went off a little bit. I'm kinda tired...and hungry...
