ipod touch

I KNOW that i should probably step up to a newer ipod. But, this gen1 does all that I need it to. There are a few apps that I want that require 3.0 software.

Will i fuck my itouch gen1 if I upgrade? I'm hearing that it's not the best idea.

I have the 1st gen Touch as well and have the newest software without any problems... i did not see a difference other than the cut/paste shit it should have done from the start... but sure, get it cause iTunes will fuck you later if you don't.

1st gen runs 3.x software fine. The only reason not to to get a 1st gen is the lack of the ability to use the mic if you buy iphone headphones.

There are rumors that a touch will arrive soon with a camera.

If you don't mind buying a data plan, iphone is a better bet, but only if you're gentle with your gear. It may be $200 for a 16gb 3gs, but if you need a replacement it sets you back $600, and you're commiting to a 2yr $30/mo data plan.

I have the iphone and i love it. I couldn't deal with a touch though just because of the capacity. I've been thinking of getting a new ipod because my 60 gig is full. The complete Zappa discography alone would take up half.
