Because I couldn't find any third-rate Caribbean player with a name like "Jimmy Canada" to cheer for.

Does anyone remember Flea in the '80s punk rock movie "Suburbia"? I wonder if you can get that movie anymore...
[I]

Total cult classic movie. Mike B the Flea. I've seen it about 100 times. FLea was great in that movie. However, I can't stand their music anymore.

What was the movie they were in, about the old train robbers? Tough Guys? That was interesting too.

I just got Pretty Girls Make Graves- elan vital, pretty good addition to their already great history of records.
And picked up the Jenny Lewis (you know from the Nintendo movie the Wizard with Fred Savage?) record. "Rabbit Fur Coat". Not bad, no where near the good Rilo Kiley stuff. Pretty much a whole album of the not so good Rilo Kiley songs. Ohwell.

I have an earlier live album of his which is pretty much all instrumental which really rocks. Very cool band. I used to be a big DMB fan too but they have gotten crap with the last few albums. But what is the big deal with the anti-DMB stuff in the USA? (they are pretty much unheard of in Aus).

Not too sure if i'm going to get the new RHCP album, i've been becoming less and less interested. Although i do enjou dani california, bought it on iTunes, mainly on the strength of the video though.
As for the things i'm listening to right now...

Boards Of Canada - Trans Canada Highway (Relaxing)
CoCoRosie - Noahs Ark (Odd but cool)
Wolfmother - Wolfmother (Psych Rock is back!)
David Gilmour - On An Island (Hmmm... jury is still out)

Just discovering Neil Young's Harvest... great album
and of course

Robots In Disguise (www.myspace.com/robotsindisguise) but then they pay my bills!

Yeah I got that - but I have noticed online and generally there seems to be a real anti-DMB backlash in the US when I recall like in the mid-late 90's they were super popular. Is it a sell-out thing?

I think its more of a DMB dissapearing up their own arses thing.
I mean Carter is a phenominal drummer, or he would be if he could only play a simple backbeat for more than 2 bars.
Fuckin show-off's

I got the following for my bday last week;

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium

Gyroscope - Are You Involved?
(Perth band)

Fourth Floor Collapse - Books With Broken Spines
(another Perth band)

I also got a second copy of the new Chili Peppers CD which I have to exchange today so I'm thinking of getting the new Jeff Martin (ex-Tea Party frontman) new solo album.
