New York in April, who's going and where are you staying?

A couple of things that were in my diary for April have now been cancelled, so I'm now thinking of coming over to NY for about a week from the 10th or 11th. I've not been to NY before so will probably also be trying to fit in a few of the touristy must do's.

Is there going to be a big group staying at the Hostel in the other thread? Or would it be better to stay closer to where some of the venues are?
