fuckin stupid these people believing that it should be illegal
its scary how many people have circular logic with this issue "Why is pot illegal?" "Because its bad" "Why is pot bad?" "Because its bad" From Wiki Answers: Answer (how it really happened) (to keep a long answer short; because the government can't profit of marijuana) William Randolph Hearst (Citizen Kane) and the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly Clark owned vast acreage of timberlands. The Hearst Company supplied most paper products. Patty Hearst's grandfather, a destroyer of nature for his own personal profit, stood to lose billions because of hemp. In 1937, Dupont patented the processes to make plastics from oil and coal. Dupont's Annual Report urged stockholders to invest in its new petrochemical division. Synthetics such as plastics, cellophane, celluloid, methanol, nylon, rayon, Dacron, etc., could now be made from oil. Natural hemp industrialization would have ruined over 80% of Dupont's business. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_is_marijuana_illegal I personally dont smoke myself but its just annoying how these people act or really tbh why they even care Last edited by starfalsh; 02-24-2010 at 08:41 PM. |

Decriminalize it and regulate it. Require dealers and distributers to have permits and pay taxes on it like any other business.

I think we're on the cusp of it becoming legal. I know with the recent budget crisis here in PA, that extra $2 mil plus of revenue it could generate is lookin mighty nice. Same thing in California, when it comes down to it, were getting to a point where states can't pass up that much (pretty much) free money.

I think it should be legal and remain tax free. We have/had a right to make our own decisions in this country. It will likely have a negative health impact on society, much like booze, but thats a personal choice not the govs. Also, it will make politicians who push for bans on cigs and trans fats look like huge Aholes.

Legalize it and let the states tax the bejesus out of it. Puts criminals out of business, gets lots of people who shouldn't be in prison anyway out (thus saving more money) and creates a butt load of much needed tax revenue without imposing a direct tax. Sounds like a winner to me.
