I'll preface this by saying I smoke weed occasionally and my girlfriend smokes daily. That being said...

If you're experienced alcoholic Keith is coming from a place where he does not personally snort cocaine on the daily. It makes you sound stupid, and it's a tired trope "stoners" trot out. |

I just want to say this last thing.
Why is it Lauren can smoke weed all day/ every day and look that fucking amazingly in-shape? Be that active and healthy? How is it that Keith can go on a marathon drinking binge for MNiK, but yet not drink every day/ is a successful healthy person? I think that Keith is confusing 'doing drugs' as like a blanket statement. If Chemda is being 100% co-host; then who the fuck cares what 'drugs' she is doing? Are her actions in her personal life affecting her business life? Is Keith feeling threatened by her drug use? If not, than who gives a shit? I think all drugs should be legal. I do not think all people should do drugs. It comes down to their personal chemistry and how they react to them. I also maintain that Europeans were the first to imbibe alcohol and thus have evolved a genetic tolerance for it. Inferring Keith was a filthy drunk mick was not my intention. I'm a filthy drunk Irish person. I was just guessing. Keith. I apologize. I do however remain suspicious of your liver and it's super powers ![]() |

Who's even to say what "doing drugs" means?
Does it mean taking drugs regularly? Does it mean having sex with drugs? Who's to say what "regularly" means? Do I eat regularly? Am I regularly sleeping? Who's to say? |

Have you ever heard anyone defend smoking cigarettes or drinking daily as some sort of badge? |

Cheech and Chong movies are not about overachievers or health-freaks. Neither is Friday, Pineapple Express etc. Movies have always typecast pot-smokers as out-of-touch or slightly retarded (ie slow) individuals.
I don't think that any "medicine" that made me temporarily or permanently dumb would be one I would defend as a good thing or medical miracle. For the record, I think pot should be categorised as alcohol is. It has a similar entertainment value, long-term medical harm and potentially damaging effect on society. So why should they be different? Any chemical that can affect the way you perceive the world, when used over a long time, will inevitably change the way your nervous system works. FACT. Whether it changes your perception of neurotransmitters (like pot and heroin) or makes your body change the number of these chemical messages (like coke and meth), the way it disrupts the body's chemical communication to deliberately cause a chemical message overload seems very likely to have long-term effects on your moods and behaviour, in the same way that prescribed medication is supposed to do to "normalize" a chemical imbalance. If you want to give yourself dopamine rewards on a daily basis, without actually achieving anything other than rolling a spliff, fine ... go ahead. I still like to drink, even though it's medically not very good for me. But please don't try to pretend you have found the elixir of life - that's just dillusional. Which incidentally is a common side-effect of prolonged drug usage. |
