Stage 2 - Magnetic Bullets

I remember as a boy my father using high powered magnets to clear old hard drives and diskettes (floppy's).

Couldn't we develop some sort of 'magnetic bullet'. You know... get a magnet on the inside of the robots and scramble the memory...?? Like a robot poison bullet?!

Can't we just make ice bullets like they do in the movies and then short circuit them that way

myth busters proved this impossible. And I think you'd need more water than 1 bullet as I've spilt water into my keyboard a few times and it's fine.

I think we'd need some sort of 'plastic gun' and a bullet with an armour piercing head... or a 'savo' (sp?) that would shield the bullet from the gun.

The surrounding circuitry, yes. My main concern is that they'll be sufficiently shielded to avoid being damaged. It's always a trade-off... be too physically heavy (due to shielding), or be susecptible to EMP... Somehow I doubt they'll miscalculate the requirements.

Hmmm.. yes... but if we're poking holes through that shielding with armour piercing rounds we'll eventually get through it... or are individual circuits shielded?

As a general rule, no. But RF (radio frequency) circuitry is often shielded from other circuitry as a means to ensure proper function within the RF section, AND to protect the other circuitry from the RF section. Hence the reason why an EM bomb can be so effective...

For the record, I like the idea of {somehow} getting EM bombs inside the robots... off to the laboratory!!!...
