37: Maids of Dishonor
Lauren and cohost Emmy count up to the bottom 5 things about Chemda and Lauren's wedding. Both of them. With guest, Libby Phillips.
Lauren lays low on this one as Libby & Emmy count up to the bottom 5 moments about Chemda & Lauren's wedding. Ever. A half-hour jam packed with giggles and insults. Witness Lauren hearing about/experiencing the Rachel Dolezal story FOR THE FIRST TIME. Libby was tricked into being our slave for 10 hours when her shift was supposed to be only one. Emmy & Libby were told they were Chemda's bridesmaids...the day of the wedding. Chemda will be a “Bridezilla” so long as her wedding dress fits. Lauren denied Libby coffee on her 1.5 year "sober-versary," & also: Hawaii is fuckin' far. Real fuckin' far. All that & Chemda Quivers acting as defense attorney to the Hennessys! nail on the head. this felt like family. emotions running high, personal truths being spoken, all in good faith and good fun. I don't think it was mean. I don't think anybody was bein' a bitch. I know yelling makes some people uncomfortable, but unconditional love can liberate us of typical social etiquette and let us flare up with each other without threatening our emotional bonds/feelings toward each other. This special family has cultivated the kind of love and understanding that isn't threatened by high-energy emotionally-charged confrontation. that is a gift. it should be celebrated and appreciated.
I totally get where emmy and libby are coming from. I also totally get where chemda is coming from. executing a wedding always brings challenges and surprises, but it sounds like this rag-tag crew pulled it off beautifully. thats the power of love (and talented folks). cheers to y'all! |
