I hated Kick Ass. It may be because I never got into comic books so, to me, the whole movie was a painful look at a loser on a downward spiral. He decided the cure to his dorkhood was to don an even dorkier outfit and become a hero, but got his ass kicked and generally fucked up everything he did and everything the real heros were doing. He did a little good and became famous, but it was still so pathetic that I just fell even sorrier for him.

I hate Cage but I have to admit, he and the girl were the only entertaining aspects of this movie. When we meet them, he is lovingly shooting her in the chest so she knows what it's like to be shot while wearing a kevlar vest. Then they go for ice cream. And the chick is a cute little 9 year old ninja that loves to kill. Kinda amusing, but could have been better with someone other than Cage and still not worth the other 95% of the movie.

If you go to the imdb page for the movie you can check the errors.

The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - Goofs

Basically, the major inconsistencies are that the physics of draining the pipe Andy used to escape are not correct, and if the pipe did defy the laws of physics Andy would have died from lack of oxygen in the escape. There are a few others about the warden's cloths not fitting him because Andy was a foot taller and that the poster and bible used to cover Andy's escape plan were not worn out from use.

The whole idea that he managed to dig a hole through one of the toughest penitentiaries of the time and hide it behind a poster without anyone really noticing. And how did he stick the poster, AFTER he got out? Power of goodness?

But you didnt notice that, because you like it, and even now you wont stop liking it.

All i'm saying is that if someone else pet peeves about a movie change your opinion about it, it means that you didnt really like it, or that you're a tool.

That's what the Graphic Novel was. I hated it. The movie was very lighter in comparison.

Nic Cage's Caracter eneded up being a psycho looser who took away her daughter from her mother and made up a backstory to turn her in a super hero. The main character didnt get the girl (who got a restraining order on him) and went into a spiral of solitude and depression.

That comic book was one of the most angry hate songs against superheroes i ever read.

The movie made it look much sillier.

I thought the gaping holes came from the encounters with "the Sisters".

That's why I like it. They take the superhero cannon and say, "Now if this is real life and we had real people wearing costumes and randomly killing folks, this is how fucking ridiculous it would be." The movie wussed out on several features, including making Hit Girl's backstory "real" and having the uber-nerd get the hot chick.

I still like the superhero stuff, too. I just like to be able to laugh at some of the cheesy sides of it.

ZING!

And yeah, the Kick-Ass books were way darker and more depressing than the movie. Still liked both.
