The way Keith feels about gay people not getting to excited over the passing of gay marriage because it'll just get repealed again... I feel that way every time he finds a "cure" for his ear fungus. I feel this sense of empathy and triumph but I just worry that it's going to come back in a few months and we'll start all over again.

My son is 2 months old and has had pretty bad reflux which has been keeping him awake, not feeding properly and generally feeling pretty crappy most of his life. He is now on the same medication we gave our daughter for the problem and doing much better but it took a while for us to get this same diagnosis.

We went to the doctors the first time expecting them to give us exactly what we were given when we took our daughter but the doctor gave us a natural remedy because he didn’t want to medicate unless it was necessary. 5 days of this hippie horseshit remedy, no change. Back to the doctors where they gave us a medication similar to the one that worked for our daughter, but “better”. I guess “better” in doctor language means, better because you’ll have to come back a week later when it doesn’t work. Before we took our son to the doctor again we took him to a chiropractor. We had read that many parents with newborns who had colic took their kids to a chiropractor and it sorted them out. Why not, we thought. We get there and the chirofuck had me lie down and then laid my son on my chest. He then proceeded to gently touch, stroke, make faces at my son. “I’m just opening the 4 valves now…” What? What fucking valves are you opening with your bare hands, through my sons clothes, inside his body, you fuckin whackjob? “Ok, his immune system is going now…” Great, what if I touch his belly like you did and turn it off again, fucko?

Before we left his office he said that most newborns need about 6-8 “adjustments” for it to work. So my son would be 4 months old by that stage which is exactly when they say colic stops affecting babies. People must take their kids there at $60 a session for 8 weeks and think that the chiro fixed their kid when it was just the colic easing away naturally.

I hate doctors except when they get it right. Then they are ok.
