Or do you mean making broad moral pronouncements that some animals are okay to eat and others aren't is hypocritical? Even then I don't think it's always true. Just because a lot of people like dogs doesn't mean that eating dogs is evil, but if a person truly believes that dogs are special, that they have a soul or that they're intelligent or something like that, then I don't see how it's hypocritical to take a moral stance.
its hypocritical cause if you want to believe in the idea of " a soul" or something that makes an individual special, and in case of an animal, more wrong to eat, you shouldnt eat any animal. because all animals have some sort of smartness or special trait to their behaviour that might be considered a sign of a "soul".

On the opposite, if you are put in front of food derived from an animal that you have no personal attachment too, i see no reason why not to eat it.

if you do not like the idea of eating something alive and with brains and all that goes with it, become a vegetarian.

i wouldnt eat my own dog or cat. but, after a moment of pondering, i might eat dog if it was ouyt in front of me. As an experience.

Wrong and Right as long as you aren't hurting another person is relative to that person.

I think eating horse or dog is gross - but I know that's how I was raised.

The only thing about 'eating horse that bothers me is that: the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is rounding up all the last wild, un-broken horses in the western states of America. They round em up and killl em...now serve em w/ fries as well??

I know that you're a very black and white person, but there is a lot of gray in this world. Like I'm ok with abortion in the first trimester but certainly not the third. In your logic, abortion is abortion, why split hairs...but to me they are two different matters.

I didn't tell you you couldn't eat horse. But it would be too difficult for me to. And I do think horses are smarter than cows.

oh, that is so sad...I had no idea they were doing that. I'm still up in arms that they are taking wolves out of their natural habitats in the northern states and shipping them to Canada. And apparently there is now a bounty out for coyote as well. I hate urban sprall and the death of native animals simply because they're "in our way"

What exactly is your criteria for not eating an animal, then? State it fully and plainly, so that people can discern whether there are any contradictions.

That is necessary because you talk about intelligence potentially being a factor, but it is a very small difference between the intelligence of a cow and a horse. If you would say that you would not eat a horse or a dog or a cat because of their intelligence, but would still be willing to eat a pig or a cow, I would say you must be either a hypocrite or incredibly ignorant.

Bob, you are the king of condescendingly simplistic statements.
