Just started listening to the episode.
You guys should consider putting up a heavy curtain instead. Get a cheap curtain rod and rings, then buy some thick material (like a theater curtain fabric). I have a feeling it might be very good at blocking out the noise. It will probably be much cheaper than $500 and if you end up deciding it's not good enough you can always change your mind and get a real door later. I'm not a handyman though, was just a thought when listening to the door finding hassle. |

Here's some curtains claimed to muffle noise.
Eclipse Samara Blackout Energy-Efficient Curtain - Walmart.com I would look most for heavy velvet (I can't tell what fabric these are). |

But we'd need an energy efficient curtain for under $10.

Keith, I think you're missing the point that insane people are insane. That dude who killed John Lennon was "influenced" or "inspired" (whatever word you wanna use) by The Catcher in the Rye. Even "trivial" things can set people off.
The common denominator is insanity, not violent media. EDIT: And Charles Manson was inspired by a Beatles song. Last edited by zappbrannigan; 07-28-2012 at 02:03 PM. |

yes, i agree, there are some crazy people and somethin might trigger their violence and if it wasnt there there would be less accidents if there were none of these.
and yet i couldnt care less and id rather have violence out there than censorship or less entertainment, and yes, chemda is right about alcohol. |
