This was yet another ep where the guest clicked with the vibe of KATG.
Easy, flowing conversations. Many lolz; and who knew Monica Lewinsky was such a cunt??? I literally exploded with laughter. Literally. OK, not literally. And the irony of the definition of "literally" using "not literally" was heartbreaking. This ep's a keeper. |

I too await the world burning.
Fuck everything, and let the chips fall where they may. But Keith, sweet angry Keith; do not lose your wide eyed principles mate. You give me hope. Albeit an empty hope, good for 60 - 120 mins of audio daily, but hope nonetheless. Do not release your rage. Fight for all the empty, broken KATGers who listen to you to find the strength to go on. Fight, my bald white brother. Please fight the tide of change and the tide of dumbing down. Fight for what it right. And you know what is right, for it is what you believe to be true. Please fight on, for you carry us on your broad PA bred shoulders. You, and your melodious magical partner, carry us upon your creative dreams. We are here for you; and likewise you are here for us. KATG. Keep All That is Good.

I had a lot of trouble reconciling my adoration for Bill Clinton the President and his signing DOMA until I saw that episode of the West Wing, The Portland Trip. Jed Bartlet on that show is basically like Bill Clinton without any of the flaws, and even he ends up signing a DOMA type law. The reasoning was that while he personally opposed the bill, the House and Senate passed it by such a large margin that a veto would be overriden. This would make the Preisdent look weak and he'd be unable to have leverage going into fights he can actually win. Basically a political decision was made to give up on an unwinnable fight, regardless of the morality of the decision, to fight other battles. All he could do was sign the law and hope to appoint some Supreme Court Justices that would eventually overturn it. It's definitely cynical, but if the perfect Jed Bartlet eventually will buckle under, I'll give Bill Clinton the benefit of the doubt.
As for political marriages, I think Gerald and Betty Ford were in love. Heck, the President and First Lady had separate bedrooms until those two came to the White House. Of course, Ford tripped into the White House when Nixon and Agnew resigned and wasn't much of a politician. I think that holds true of the Carters too. Maybe it's just the unlikely political success stories. And I certainly hope it matters, or why should I even bother? |

Literally has become a "Contranym", a word that can be its own opposite depending on the use. Check out the examples on Wikipedia to see there's actually a ton of these in use.

The earliest the sun sets in Montreal is 4:15 p.m. so he literally slept the day away...no wonder he never saw the daylight.
Oh, and pot can help anxious people relax? I , personally, feel the opposite on this one. Maybe some people but not everyone. Only 20 minutes in and LOVING this guest! |
