It doesn't play as well on a TV.

I always think it's moronic when people applaud at a movie since the only ones who hear the applause are the ushers. But you know what? Seeing Titanic in NYC's Sony Lincoln Center Theatre in their giant screen rooms before all the hype was amazing. None of us knew what to expect. The reviewers panned it so our expectations weren't that great. Most of us were seeing it since we had a fascination with the ship. And then it hit us - not so much for the story line - it was silly - but for the recreation of the ship, the footage of the sinking and the emotion and desperation that Cameron projected. On that giant screen you saw the detail and the immensity of the ship and the tragedy.

When it ended, like an idiot, I applauded. The whole theatre did.

I worked at a movie theatre when 'Passion' came out. It was almost funny how people reacted to it (especially living in the bible belt). People came to see that movie over and f'ing over... and bragged and bragged about it. It was like every time you see it you get a Boy Scout patch on your Good Christian shirt. Also, people felt SOOOO obligated to cry as they walked out of the theatre. It was if these family's looked down on each other if they weren't crying, because we all know... the more you cry during 'Passion' the more you love Jesus.

Also, Staind covered "Black" not "Evenflow" and I thinking I remember reading that Pearl Jam bitched about it publically.

Awesome show.
