I agree with you Keith, even though you're white. If I seriously said "Keep the name!" I'd be a fat doughy fuck. For real, though, I'm 120 pounds, 5"8, and I'm an Indigenous lady from Canada whose ancestors survived the Residential School system. Survived being brutalized by the Canadian Justice System. Had to deal with not having the right to vote. Not having the right to leave the reservation without permission. Not having the right to legal council. The right to speak our language, practice our culture, our political system. The continuing contamination of fresh water sources. Dumbass racist students in class who tell me that they didn't even know my people were still alive. So yeah. The idea of my people being referred to as "Redskin" is, quite frankly, babullshit.
Oh my God Keith, how could you say that? I'm skinny, so fucking skinny, god dammit. |

It's a simple math equation. Unlike "ax2 + bx + c = 0" for the values of x. Also remember that this means that you are trying to find the x-intercepts of the graph. When the Formula gives you a negative inside the square root, you can now simplify that zero by using complex numbers. The answer you come up with is a valid "zero" or "root" or "solution" for "ax2 + bx + c = 0", because, if you plug it back into the quadratic, you'll get zero after you simplify. But you cannot graph a complex number on the x,y-plane. So this "solution to the equation" is not an x-intercept. You can make this connection between the Quadratic Formula, complex numbers, and graphing.
Edit: Shit, I fucked up. You may be able to graph a complex number based on that exact equation. I tested it in Excel. Last edited by DJQuad; 11-20-2013 at 08:25 PM. Reason: woopsies |

The name of the group that Redman was in was the Def Squad which was started by EPMD. He also had a group with Method Man for a while too.
Dan Soder is the man. This episode was great. Chemda's Patriots joke was hilarious. So glad I could be a part of this show in any way. |
