What Jim Carrey used to do was incredibly hard to imitate. In his prime he was great at playing characters, and very unique.

No sympathy for Newsie. Tagging is usually incredibly ugly (compared to graffiti art or...anything) and costs businesses and home owners. And if you're doing it on city property, aren't taxpayers paying for it? I'm all for commissioned art though.

Not to mention, Newsie never seems to give a shit about any of the stuff he pulls.

i'm sorry, did all of you miss the point that our own wee little News is artistically infamous? his dumb little tag has a following. hipster girls in cool sunglasses and smug gingers selfie themselves in front of his CHUs. a /legal task force/ had meetings about WHO IS CHU? and we've known him this whole time. the allure is incredible. there's something mystical in glancing around an otherwise ordinary situation and spying magic. Newsy brings that magic.

i am so proud of our guy.

I appreciate artistic/creative graffiti. I don't find the typical bubble-letter graffiti or just regular tags to be either. I used to do that shit too, but I'm not artistic enough to make really interesting graffiti art. That's why I love Banksy. But if I think of something thought-provoking or funny I might write it somewhere in marker, just because I enjoy seeing that sort of stuff.

it's a sub-genre within Graffiti apparently. i found his stuff on a Bombing subreddit which is different than Street Art. you aren't even allowed to post Street Art in there. which leads me to believe he's doing really well at this other thing we obviously know very little about, but for which we will pass much artistic judgment.
