Bear and i exist on opposite schedules b/c he gets home somewhere between 1 and 3 then he writes for a few hours and generally crawls into bed between 5 and 7. his alarms (there are many, for everything from waking up to mindfully thinking about goals, and at odd times; 1:16, 12:32, etc.) often go off while he's in the shower or taking calls which would be fine if i ever managed to actually turn one off instead of hitting snooze. there's 15 minutes of my day sometimes walking back to the bedroom to turn off a ding situation that's just faint enough to drive me nuts. i do not understand why i haven't figured it out yet.
on a cuter note, several of those alarms are for me. a little ding at 11:11 and 4:44 indicate what we like to call "love you time" where we stop what we're doing and acknowledge what time it is: love you time!!! |

Charlie talking about thinking about his next response for one of these online fights is probably exactly what Keith wants. He is probably thrilled to hear it consumes people's thoughts like that.

Pitch for My Name Is Keith, mark II:
Exactly the same as the original, but replace shouting questions at drunk people with shouting questions at people as you play Xbox against them. Some weeks it's a scheduled guest, and some weeks it's random foulmouthed 11-year-old. Who knows? You might hit the jackpot. https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/a...-word-60-times |

I have a superpower, Mrs Flerchin is Deaf, so my night noises do not bother her. I more than occasionally listen to KaTG in the middle of the night. Although sometimes my laughing shakes the bed and wakes her up.
She on the other hand, has the opposite of that superpower, and has no idea whether the things she is doing will wake me up. She will super cautiously tiptoe around the room, and then turn on her blowdryer that is louder than a jet engine. I hit one snooze to remind me to get out of bed while I read the internet first thing in the morning. |

I'm sorry to hear the end of MNiK. Truly amazing podcast. I understand your concern. If we lost Chanel Ali, I'd have been very sad indeed.
Does anyone have another candidate show for me to drink along to? Last edited by flerchin; 05-02-2017 at 08:15 AM. |

People who say they can function on fewer than 7 hours of sleep are lying to themselves. If someone needs to be up at 5 every day, you have to be asleep by 10. Not "go to bed at 10"; start winding down at 9, asleep by 10. And this is much easier if you don't vary your sleep schedule on the weekends.
If you can't get up with 5 alarms, you're ignoring your body. Maybe you won't get as much done--either work or play--but I guarantee you will enjoy your life much better if you allow yourself the sleep you need. |

One more thing (that might get me yelled at): how does one go to "it's some kind of disease that I can't get up even after 12 hours" before thinking it's the pure THC coursing through your veins that has replaced 95% of your blood?
Not saying marijuana is evil, but--moderation, right? |
