She had a life-threatening illness and all of US gave more fucks than HER PARENTS. Not to mention the fact that they ignored her marriage and they completely support her siblings.

I recently "broke up" with my best friend of over 10 years because it started to get toxic. Every time I talk about her, I get the same tone in my voice that Chemda was getting when talking about her mom. My bf always has to remind me that it was for the best and I ultimately always agree with my original decision.

I know it's hard, Chemda, but keep your head up. Your mom sucks.

Are we all listening to different episodes? it "sounds like" Chemda still wants a relationship with her mother? Yes, she wants a very specific kind of relationship where her. She's said it in multiple episodes now: A relationship where her mother doesn't treat Chemda like shit. Doesn't tell her she's gaining weight, doesn't tell her to quit her job (whilst not having a clue what she does) because men won't want to marry her if she cares too much about her job, doesn't actively, passive aggressively ignore the existence of Hennessy and doesn't make contact with her only when mother wants something.

Chemda says all these things directly but ya'll, Hera, wanna focus on the fact that she called the email cute? C'mon!

At this point I'm not even sure I want Chemda's mom to talk to Keith on air. She wouldn't be any fun to interview

I don't think I code switch anymore, at least no in the context of the episode. I totally have a bs customer service tone I use at work but I think that's economical more than cultural. There's like a over arching "How may we help you?" language that the customer service industry has cultivated.

After years and years bouncing between friend groups that run across all different scenes, I've come to realize that my regular personality is pretty fricken cool and I speak the same mix of nerdy, geeky,New Yorkery, otaku crap I personally love and even if people don't know what I mean, they get it from my gestures of motive of the discussion.
