Prefacing by saying I'd totally bang Emily, she is hot as balls, and the guy handled whatever was going on like a weirdo and a jerk.

However, no one seemed to consider the option that maybe it was Emily, maybe the guy looked at her and it didn't vibe, he didn't feel her. It happened to all of us, we thought we were vibing and when it got real we slowed down (maybe not flying to Miami real). If the story was the other way around, he came to NY and Emily didn't like him and stopped in her tracks we would go "good for you girl, no means no".

And I'm not even trying to make this a gender issue, I feel we are all taking Emily's side because she's your friend and, as listeners, we love her. If anything, I'd blame toxic masculinity, and guys not knowing how to handle their emotions, shutting down so hard they FALL ASLEEP (!).

If he flew to Emily’s place in ny and she didn’t turn on the light and just went to bed when he got to her place I would tell her she was wrong.

We weren’t getting mad over lack of sex. We were getting mad over lack of human courtesy when someone comes to your home.

Not being attracted to each other is always a possibility. Be an adult about it.

He pulled a cowards move, not speaking out. Also I’m a bit older and it’s not right by a long stretch but I don’t know many men that would pass up a weekend of hot sex whether they liked the girl or not

I've also been talking with someone for the past 6 months that I haven't met. What happened to Emily is actually my worst nightmare but a good reminder that this is a possibility of what could happen.

But his lack of hospitality, more than the not vibing, is what made me upset.

Great episode, Emily is hilarious! This brought back a memory for me too.

I hit "No" in the poll because I didn't fly, but I also once went on a 3 day Florida adventure partially for a girl (there was also some live music I was checking out) and it was a similar situation. We had met IRL before through a mutual friend but kept in touch via AOL or something back in the internet stone age. Got there and she just wasn't really as into me as she thought, I guess. I ended up just kicking around meeting randos on the beach and at the shows I went to who helped me out with places to crash. Kind of nuts, but I was a 20ish kid with no worries (due to having no clue) and had a great time overall, even if it was a little weird.

I cannot fathom this guys behavior. The only thing I could think of (which is a crazy amount of "maybes" is that he is not single and not faithful and Emily showing up made it too "real." The whole thing is so crazy I cannot even come up with a realistic explanation.
