I’ve taken acid twice.

The first time was life changing in a stereotypical way. I was 20 and it was planned and lead by an experienced person who stayed sober. We started mid morning and our “guide” talked us through everything, he fed us when we needed food, changed the music based on our moods, and brought us outside when the time was right. I laughed and cried and there was not one bad moment. it lasted at least 24 hours and that was ok cause we planned for it beginning to end.

The second time though… I boldly thought I knew what I was doing and did it spontaneously without any structure/anchor to the real world. BAD IDEA. It was 24 hrs of manically changing activities and feeling sick and laughing at nothing and having weird interactions with strangers… those memories still haunt me and is why I haven’t done it since.

Not gonna argue for or against acid as it feels so clear to me the experience is so person and context dependent… but I will say that someone shoulda told you how long it would last at the very least.
