Earlier they showed the older son hanging out with kids a few years senior, where they all bragged about sneaking out at 2AM without supervision. You never find out how that's addressed, how many of of the chaotic issues were addressed.
At one point, while the mom stands and watches, Jo takes one of the kids by the arm and drags them to the time-out chair.

If I had to guess, I would say you left because of the lack of available gays?
