i love crock pot slow cooking. it’s the easiest, laziest way to make food. The Mississippi Pot Roast is a wonder; it feeds many, is delicious, and takes no effort. seriously, it makes its own gravy as a byproduct that’s magnificently soppable.

1 chuck roast
1 stick of butter
1 packet McCormick au jus gravy mix
1 packet Hidden Valley ranch mix
1 jar pepperocinis

throw everything in willy nilly. set on low for 6-8 hours depending on the weight of the roast.

The hardest part of crockpot cooking is not eating the food when the smell is filling the house a few hours before it's even ready. OMG... OMG!!!!

my only hard and fast rule for crockpots is DO NOT USE BABY CARROTS. they turn to gross smushymush. use big boy carrots.

Since yall are sharing cooking tips...

Do yall wash your chicken? Or just cook it as is?

Do you find it as annoying as I do? I hate washing chicken thinking about salmonella contamination in my kitchen

I don’t watch my chicken. I also remember the CDC issuing some sort of “don’t wash your chicken” advisory during the pandemic.

Don’t get me started on chicken.

I’ll eat it right out of the packaging as I get ready to cook it.

Pro tip: try not to eat it too raw too fast
