Aunt Helen's graphic novel!
Hey friends,
I can finally say with pride that after many years of self-publishing, my graphic novel, IVY, is coming out February 3rd in hardcover from Oni Press. Many of you who have talked with me on chat have asked for details about my comics. Well, here you go! ![]() "Ivy, a teenage girl raised by a single mother in a small coastal town in Maine, longs to leave her home and achieve her dream of becoming a painter. Unfortunately, daily life doesn’t run smoothly for someone whose anger often gets the better of her, and who makes enemies more easily than friends. But when Ivy begins a long-distance relationship with a kindred spirit, she gets a glimpse of freedom and acceptance too good to pass up. Only while trying to escape her troubles does she start to realize that while she can leave home, she can’t run away from herself." I have the first chapter (50 pages!) up for free on my website. Here's the link. While the book is available on Amazon, I'd love it, if possible, if you would order it from your local comic book shop. It's a tough industry to stay in unless the community supports us, and I know KATG fans are nothing except community-oriented! Thank you all for your friendship and laughs over the years. I hope this can be my way of giving something back to you to enjoy. <3 ---Sarah Oleksyk, aka Aunt Helen |

There's a comic shop nearby I've been meaning to check out. Now I have a reason. First 50 pages are awesome by the way. Could definitely be a portrait of myself in HS, but without the talent (me, not your protagonist.)

That looks cool, I'll get it. I've never been in a comic book store, but I know of one close to home. We'll see if they are dicks like they are always portrayed on tv.
Congrats on finishing and publishing! |

Holy moley, this is so awesome.
You've shot straight up the inspirational list, you're a published author, so so so damn cool!! I'll hit up my local comic book shop to see if they'll order it, fuck it, I'll even pay for a little extra shipping. Congratulations. You bloody well deserve it. ![]() |
