I don't know if this has been talked about on the show yet, but I thought it was pretty fascinating.

As cynical as I am, part of me wonders if this is an attempt to get a shorter jail sentence. However if that's the case I suppose it wouldn't bother me. (I personally thought he should have gotten a medal of honor, not a 35 year prison stay.)

Do you guys think the government should pay for sexual reassignment surgeries for prisoners? I don't have an opinion one way or another, but this whole thing seems to be one big can of worms.

I don't know. People are free to do whatever and I won't get in the way but others aren't the same. This works to destroy any credibility he brought to the table, sadly.

She was in therapy for transitioning before she leaked documents. I believe for several years in fact. So I really really dont think it was for a shorter sentence. In fact with prejudice against trans people its possible that the sentence was longer rather than shorter.

Ah that's interesting. I don't trust anything when it comes to lawyers or the legal system so my first reaction was just that it was some sort of legal gambit.
