local events. people are more willing to wrench open their wallets if they're getting something in return be it a thing or a good time. like a benefit strong man arm wrestling tournament and facial hair contest. money can be made with entrance fees, a charismatic MC passing a hat, old lady pie sale for donations, and linking your online money link on the poster (QR codes are good for that).

firstly, you're wrong. organizing is doable and if you need UK based community organizational help, it's there.
secondly, and this is not a dig at your friend, why should i care? a part from she's sick and lonely and arts, you've told us essentially nothing about this human being. as with all things, you still have to sell it. thirdly, don't think this kind of thing happens with mouse clicks. it takes real-life, off-your-bottom organization. asking keith malley to retweet a something about someone he neither knows nor cares for is near futile. and even if he were to give so many shits as to help you out, depending on the time of day, you may only reach a handful of followers who aren't in a position to do you a great deal of help. start local. contact your local health care facilities for organizations who give to this kind of situation. are there support groups for your friend's illness? have you asked the churches? where are places she goes where people would have interacted and know her: favorite cafe's, bars, a local store? in which communities has she participated? do you have an arts center who would be interested in holding a benefit gallery of her pieces?
