I don't mean to bust your balls, I know you were joking.

There are some very real anti-French sentiments in this country, though, so I took the opportunity to remind people of France's contributions to our country.

Hate to bring this up, being a few days old, however America's birthday is July 2. That is when the The Declaration of Independence was first submitted by Thomas Jefferson. It just took 2 days for the Founding Fathers to get to the debate on the issue, and only then was the document rushed through the congress.

So under that logic, the date a bill takes effect is the date it is submitted instead of the date it signed? Good lord man, why did you wait so long to bring this point up? Think of the time that could've been saved over the years debating things and then voting on them!

Well, really, one could make the case that America was born in April of 1775, and it only got its official birth certificate over a year later.
