Ah, the 300 baud Modem. Back in the days of my youth, over 20 years ago.... Those were the days.

Wait, I still use "handle". Are you calling me old?

I don't use "handle", but the "nick" term came shortly after 1200 baud was popular which is what I still use. heh

"Dude! Did you read the press briefing on the Hayes 9600 baud modem! Wow! $1,200 but if you run a BBS they'll sell it to you for $700. I'm thinking of putting up a fake BBS just for a few weeks in order to get one"

Fast forward a few years and now I have six of them being used as a printer stand.

I never did get a 9600. I had whatever was lower than that4800, I th ink, for the longest and then went to the 15.5...14.4? I dunno. Then straight to Cable Modem. Now running DSL, because there are more places I can plug it in, didn't really think about the cable jacks as being for computers when we built the house.

My "handles" were Redcat Golden, Spanielhead, and Spanielhead II. Back in the days when copy/paste of the ascii to make it look like a new post inside your post would get you labeled a hacker. waah waah waahaaahah.
